Reporter earns ire after interrupting NCRPO chief's crime stats discussion

An unknown reporter earned ire of netizens after she tried to interrupt National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Supt. Oscar Abayalde during his discussion of crime statistics of NCRPO on Tuesday, July 19.

Abayalde explained in front of media men that the crime statistics of NCRPO were so low after days of inauguration of Rodrigo Duterte as 16th President of the Philippines. He claimed that no carnapping incident was reported in Metro Manila two weeks after the president formally assumed office on June 30.

A PTV clip from its Facebook page shows that in the middle of the NCRPO chief’s remarks, the reported tried to interrupt him twice, shouting something we couldn’t understand. Although Abayalde did not mind her when she tried to ask him a question, netizens found it to be disgraceful and disrepectful to the speaker.

The short clip caused an avalanche of comments with many social media users criticizing the reporter for her interruption attempts.

Facebook user called Geya Climaco Vargas stated.
