Millennials are often branded to be impatient and incompetent. Sometimes, however, they are actually the ones who believe and stay.
Popoy and Basha did not just vent the tears out of our tears. These “A Second Chance” main characters’ experiences actually divulge several facts about running a business.
Accepting more clients than your firm can handle is never a good way to go. This is why when Popoy asked, “Any takers?”, no one answered. Because honestly? No one ‘Poy, no one.
An agent’s job is to give recommendations to client and implement necessary actions as agreed by both parties. At the end of the day, however, regardless of your own pride and preferences, you should leave the final decision to your client. Basha was right when she said, “Kung hindi mo [Popoy] sana pinilit yung gusto mo, hindi sana nawala yung project (If you did not insist what you like, we should not have lost the project).”
Remember the scene where the foundation of an infrastructure Popoy was building eroded? The male protagonist came to question his employees, “Wala man lang nakahalata sa inyo (No one from you noticed it)?” He did not realize that he was the primary responsible for ensuring the quality of everything going on with his business’ projects.
“Pinapaniwalaan kita pero yung buong mundo, ito ang paniniwalaan (I believe in you, but the whole world believes in this),” Basha says to Popoy, pointing out that all of his explanations were pointless because the people would believe what was in the newspaper anyway.
A decision’s extent of being reasonable depends on the way it is communicated to the other party. For an instance, Basha was able to convince their client to go on with what Popoy started (pure cement staircase) through focusing on the advantages of the action.
“Kung aalis, aalis (Whoever leaves, leaves)” Regardless of the length of time spent with the company, if an employee decides to leave, he will. Employees are humans too. They also have necessities needing provision, and goals needing accomplishment.

The best way out is to tell the truth. Cliche, yes, but the truth is the only thing that can set you free. Do not wait to be busted. Open up and, consequently, be aided by the people around you.
“…Kung ‘di, mamamatay tayong dilat (Or else, we will die wide-eyed).”
“A Second Chance” is a Cathy Garcia-Molina film which followed its prequel “One More Chance” only after eight years. Both films starred Bea Alonzo (Basha) and John Lloyd Cruz (Popoy) together with the Thursday Group: Dimples Romana (Krizzy), Bea Saw (Anj), James Blanco (Kenneth), Janus Del Prado (Chinno), and Ahron Villena (JP), alongside a number of reputable actors and actresses.
The sequel was produced due to popular demand. Even Alonzo stated in a press conference for a brand that the One More Chance team had a hard time of deciding whether to go on with the seuquel or not.
“To tell you honestly, sobrang finafight pa siya ng mga minds namin lahat. Hindi namin alam kung tama or ano but… naramdaman namin kung gaano nila [fans] na-miss si Popoy at Basha (To tell you honestly, we were really fighting it in our minds. We did not know if it was right or not, but we felt how the fans missed Popoy and Basha),” the leading lady said.
The outcome was spectacular as the movie garnered 43.3 million ticket sales on its opening day, breaking all records of highest gross opening sales of non-MMFF movies in the Philippines.
