The hostage drama wedding proposal occurred inside a restaurant in Quezon City last Saturday, which turned out to be an elaborate prank ending as an actual wedding proposal, ABS-CBN said.

In the video, at the Van Gogh Is Bipolar restaurant, the groom-to-be and the bride-to-be are seen browsing items at the restaurant when a violent hostage-taker takes the boyfriend a hostage. Played by film actor Leon Miguel, the armed man being chased by the police is seen shouting and cursing at the pleading man (boyfriend).

His girlfriend, who is heard telling her boyfriend to stop talking, had no idea what was really going on.

To pull it all off, the hostage taker brought a ring and gave it to the boyfriend, who pleaded to marry his girlfriend and quipped, “Puwede bang hulugan ‘to?”

The video includes footage of speech from the boyfriend, now addressing his girlfriend, “It has been a roller coaster ride for the past four, five years for us… I don’t know the perfect timing for this, but I think right now is the right time for this — to ask you: Will you be my partner in case of a zombie apocalypse?”

“May I have the honor to be your husband? Will you marry me?” the man asks, now kneeling on the floor in front of his girlfriend.

Wiping tears as she laughs, the woman says yes.

ABS-CBN said the couple, therapist Calvin Leorna and kids yoga teacher Annabelle Jay-Ar Trono, have been together for over four years and are planning to get married in late December this year.
