The 19th Asian Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship is set to kick off in the Philippines on Wednesday, August 9, 2017. This volleyball tournament is scheduled to be held from 9 to 17 August 2017 with in two cities: at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan, Laguna and Muntinlupa Sports Complex in Muntinlupa City.

The SMM 19th Asian Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship is composed of 14 teams including reigning and 13-time champions China and debutantes Maldives for the prestigious crown.

The Philippine team, which is made up of skipper Mika Reyes, former SEA Games flag bearer Alyssa Valdez, veterans Jovelyn Gonzaga, Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, Ces Molina, Maika Ortiz, Rhea Dimaculangan, Aby Marano, Denden Lazaro, Gen Casugod, Kim Fajardo, Jaja Santiago, Kim Kianna Dy, and Dawn Macandili, is composed for Pool A alongside Kazakhstan and Hong Kong.

China, Japan, and Australia made up Pool B, while South Korea, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand round up Pool C.

Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Iran, and Maldives meanwhile make up Pool D.

Team Philippines will begin their matches against Hong Kong during the opener on Wednesday, August 9, followed by a meeting with Kazakhstan on August 11.

Selected matches will be delayed telecast on primetime on ABS-CBN Sports + Action. Tickets are priced at P250 and P150.
