Rodrigo Duterte tops FEU mock polls

If it were an actual election, the PDP-Laban presidential bet Rodrigo Duterte would be the country’s next president.

PDP-Laban presidential candidate Rodrigo “Digong” Duterte has won over People’s Reform Party bet Sen. Miriam Santiago by 5 votes in mock polls at the Far Eastern University.

FEU’s student newspaper, FEU Advocate, has bannered Digong’s triumph in e-voting survey as of March 4, 2016, 11:41 AM.

In FEU Advocate’s report, Duterte received 2,614 votes (43.66%), against Santiago’s 2,609 (43.58%), in the poll of 5,987 students, followed by Senator Grace Poe followed with 419 votes (7%), former Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas (2.91%), and Vice President Jejomar Binay (2.86%).

The mock elections – which FEU Central Student Organization sponsored – were held on March 3 and 4 in the university campus.

Xavier University mock polls also showed same results. XU reported Rodrigo Duterte (PDP-Laban) in the lead with 65.13% of votes. He was followed by Miriam Defensor-Santiago (People’s Reform Party) with 13.38%. Mar Roxas (LP) was in third place with 9.31% of votes followed by Grace Poe (Ind) with 6.93%. Jejomar Binay was last with 1.96%. Respondents who voted “none” accounted for 3.29%.

Leading the vice presidential race was Leni Robredo (LP) with 27.17%, Xavier University reported. Bongbong Marcos (Ind) ranked second with 24.23%. Alan Peter Cayetano (Ind) was in third place with 22.76%. Chiz Escudero (Ind) placed fourth with 13.87%. In fifth place was Antonio Trillanes IV (Ind) with 6.65%. Gringo Honasan (UNA) was in the sixth spot with 0.98%. Respondents who voted “none” accounted for 4.34%.
