Pinoy Red Sea Divers hold underwater campaign to support Duterte presidency

A number of scuba divers in Saudi Arabia held an underwater campaign supporting the candidacies of presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte and vice-presidential candidate Alan Peter Cayetano.

Duterte was accepted as candidate for President of the Philippines in the upcoming 2016 election after filing his certificate of candidacy in Manila as a substitute for anti-crime advocate Martin Diño as the standard bearer of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).

Called “Pinoy Red Sea Divers,” they submerged several meters in Red Sea, Jeddah and held banners reading “Tunay na pagbabago at may malasakit sa Tao – Duterte Cayetano”, and “Happy Birthday Labs.” The latter banner purported to greet a woman celebrating her birthday.

Nicknamed “The Punisher” and the “Dirty Harry” or “Duterte Harry” of Mindanao for his no-nonsense approach to crime, Duterte vowed to stop crime and corruption in the country. He also vowed to seize and stop the proliferation of loose guns in the country in one year if he becomes president.

In a proclamation rally in Tondo, Manila on Tuesday night, he reiterated his promise to end illegal drugs, criminality corruption within the first six months of his administration if he wins the presidency.
