Comedienne Tiya Pusit died of kidney failure Thursday in Quezon City. She was 66 years old and had been in the Philippine Heart Center for several weeks before her death.
Myrna Villanueva in real life, also known as Tia Pusit, who passed away at 11:30 p.m., is survived by her four children.
Her sister, actress Nova Villa spoke to media to confirm her death. Nova said that Tia Pusit had a number of medical conditions, including brain hemorrhage, since her operation.
According to a report from GMA News, the comedian needed to undergo a heart bypass and was suffering from kidney and blood complications. The family sought help for her medical expenses.
In the past few weeks, Tia Pusit’s condition has reportedly gone to worse after her double bypass surgery.
Tia was last seen in “Ikaw Lamang” as Kim Chiu’s nanny.
Details of interment are yet to be announced.
Tiya Pusit gained fame last year after she reportedly entered a relationship with a 27-year-old man, whom she met on Facebook and started their romance.
Her last project was “Confessions of a Torpe” on TV5 with Ogie Alcasid. She appeared in dozens of movies including “A Journey Home” (2009), “Bakit ba Ganyan (Ewan ko nga ba, Darling)” (2000), “Huwag na Huwag kang Lalapit Darling” (1997) and “Hulihin si…Nardong Toothpick (1990)”.
