Francis Xavier Pasion, one of the directors of “On the Wings of Love (OTWOL)”, a 2015 Philippine romantic comedy television series, was found dead inside his apartment in Quezon City on Sunday afternoon. The initial findings of PNP SOCO stated that Pasion died of a heart attack.
In a report by Interaksyon’s Edwin Sallan, Pasion’s bloodied body was found in his bathroom by members of his family. This was later confirmed by a barangay official who asked not to be named.
Pasion was also the director of the award-winning independent film “Jay,” which was about a filmmaker who is working on a documentary about a murdered teacher.
It won the Best Film of the festival that year and would later go on to win more awards in the Gawad Urian and several international film festival.
In 2010, his second film, “Sampaguita, National Flower,” also did just as well in Cinemalaya winning Special Jury Prize, New Breed category and was also nominated for the top awards in other international filmfests.
His third and final film, “Buwaya” won the Best Film, New Breed award in Cinemalaya’s 2014 edition and would later win the Grand Prize in the Tokyo FilmEX festival in Japan.
He was also one of the directors of the hit teleseryes, “My Binondo Girl,” “The Princess and I,” “Dyesebel,” and “Nathaniel.”
