P1,000 each will be givent to the 568,000 families in the city.

“Bawat isang pamilya, 568,000 families per total of the listed barangays, tatanggap po kayo [ng cash aid]. Kaysa intayin pa niyo ang pagkain na laging nade-delay dahil sa kulang na suplay, ay bibigyan po kayo ng pamahalaang lungsod ng Maynila ng tig-iisang libong piso (Every family, 568,000 families per total of the listed barangays, will receive [the cash aid]. Instead of waiting for the relief goods, which always get delayed due to the lack of supply, the Manila City government will give you P1,000 each),” ‘Yorme’ Isko said.

Isko Moreno, however, stressed that those who had not yet received a food package will receive priority.

The distribution of the grants will be done house-to-house starting April 7, Tuesday. Barangay officials will facilitate the distribution in their respective areas.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Star reported that the following will be the sources of the crisis fund:

    • Office of the Mayor, Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE)-Expenses – P200,000,000
    • Manila Department of Social Welfare – P124,000,000
    • 20% City Development Fund – P267,500,000

In addition, the Manila City LGU had previously announced that Mayor Isko Moreno, along with Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna and the rest of the city council are giving up their one-month salary to donate a total of Php 4.7 million to the Philippine General Hospital.

    His announcement reads:
