Caloocan City Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan on Monday, September 19, declared the City of Caloocan as the “Motorcycle Capital of the Philippines”.

The title was based on the following:
- most number of motorcycle units in a city,
- most number of motorcycle-related businesses in a city, and
- highest revenue of a city from motorcycle industry.
Furthermore, Malapitan also announced that Caloocan City will hold on October 21 to 22 the first-ever ‘National Motorcycle Festival’ to strengthen the city’s title.
The two-day celebration will include motorcycle parade, drag race, and show.
The gathering will also give the motorcycle riders the chance to meet other enthusiasts of two-wheeled motorized vehicles.
Aside from those, there will be discounts in all participating motorcycle shops.
