A 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Legazpi City and shook several areas in the Bicol region on Sunday morning, March 8, 2015, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In its latest update this morning, Phivolcs said the tremor was recorded 41 kilometers northeast of Legazpi City at 6:53 a.m.
The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 6 kilometers.
The tremor was felt as Intensity IV in Legaspi City in Albay and Sorsogon City.
Phivolcs said damage and aftershocks are not expected from the quake.
