The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board of Accountancy conducted the certified public accountant licensure examination (CPALE) in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legaspi, Lucena, Tacloban, and Tuguegarao on October 5, 6, and 12, 2019.

The members of the Board of Accountancy who gave the licensure examination are Noe G. Quiñanola, Chairman; Marko Romeo L. Fuentes, Vice Chairman; Gloria T. Baysa, Samuel B. Padilla, Arlyn Juanita S. Villanueva, Thelma S. Ciudadano and Gervacio I. Piator, Members.

The three-day October 2019 CPA board exam covered topics from Taxation and Regulatory Framework for Business Transactions on October 5, Management Advisory Services, and Auditing on October 6, and Financial Accounting and Reporting, and Advanced Financial Accounting and Reporting on October 12.

Results of October 2019 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination Out

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Monday, October 21, that 2,075 out of 14,492 passed the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination given by the Board of Accountancy in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban and Tuguegarao this October 2019.

The Board of Accountancy is composed of Noe G. Quiñanola, Chairman; Marko Romeo L. Fuentes, Vice Chairman; Gloria T. Baysa, Samuel B. Padilla, Arlyn Juanita S. Villanueva, Thelma S. Ciudadano and Gervacio I. Piator (inhibited), Members.

From October 28 to 31 and November 4 to 15, 2019, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to http://online.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration. Those who will register are required to bring the following: downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, notice of admission (for identification only), 2 pieces passport sized pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag), 2 sets of documentary stamps and 1 piece short brown envelope. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.

Release of October 2019 CPA Board Exam Results

Per CPALE schedule and updates, the release date of October 2019 Physician Board Exam results is October 21, 2019 (Monday) or in six (6) working days after the last day of said certified public accountant licensure examination (CPALE).

Registration of Passers

Those who will register are required to bring the following:

  • duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
  • current Community Tax Certificate (cedula)
  • 1 piece passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag)
  • 2 sets of documentary stamps
  • 1 short brown envelope with name and profession

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

Oathtaking of Passers

The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examinations WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.

Verification of Ratings

Certified public accountant board exam verification of ratings (passers, non-passers and removal) can be done online. Visit PRC’s “Verification of Rating” service and enter the required information to verify your identity. Note that this can be available in few days after the exam.

23 Ranked Best Accountancy Schools in the Philippines for 2018

The ranking of the best accountancy schools in the Philippines for 2018 has been released, which currently featured only 23 out of 532 colleges and universities offering undergraduate programs in accountancy.

De La Salle University is still ranked first in the country for accountancy with 83.95% overall score based on overall board exam performance (70%), accreditation (20%), and faculty-student ratio (10%). The school is the sole institution in the country accredited as Center of Excellence (COE) in accountancy by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

University of Santo Tomas made the 2nd rank on the list for 2018, ahead of University of the Philippines Diliman at 3rd rank, Far Eastern University at 4th rank, and University of San Carlos at 5th.

The rankings are based on the results of two certified public accountant licensure examinations in 2018 plus other factors including level of accreditation and faculty-student ratio to find out which medical schools have the most valuable programs to produce a batch of examinees with high passing rate.

Top Performing Accountant Schools in the Philippines for 2014-2018

A total of 24 colleges and universities, 17 private and 7 public schools, are among the top performing accountancy schools out of 642 in the 5-year aggregate data of certified public accountant licensure examinations with at least 100 examinees and above the weighted passing rate of 60 percent.

The University of the Philippines-Diliman earned the No. 1 spot as top performing school in certified public accountant licensure examinations for 2014-2018 with 98.38 percent weighted passing rate or 304 out of 309 examinees.

A total of 26,970 out of 85,669 examinees passed the certified public accountant licensure examinations from July 2014 to October 2018 or a total of 10 certified public accountant board exams. The weighted national passing rate for the same period was 31.48 percent.

Kingfisher School of Business and Finance in Lucao, Pangasinan placed second with 96.0 percent weighted passing rate from its 120 successful examinees out of 125.

University of Saint La Salle in Bacolod City came in third place with 90.14 percent from its 128 passers out of 142 examinees.

De La Salle University-Manila was fourth with 88.31 percent weighted passing rate from its 589 successful examinees out of 667.

May 2019 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 1,699 out of 10,319 passed the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination given by the Board of Accountancy in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Tacloban and Tuguegarao in May 2019. The result of examination with respect to one (1) examinee was withheld pending final determination of her liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examinations.

The Board of Accountancy is composed of Noe G. Quiñanola, Chairman; Marko Romeo L. Fuentes, Vice Chairman; Gloria T. Baysa, Samuel B. Padilla, Arlyn Juanita S. Villanueva, Thelma S. Ciudadano and Gervacio I. Piator, Members.

The results were released in five (5) working days from the last day of examination.

The De La Salle University-Manila was the top performing school in the May 2019 C.P.A. Licensure Examination (CPALE).

October 2018 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 3,616 out of 14,358 passed the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination given by the Board of Accountancy in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban and Tuguegarao in October 2018. The results of examination with respect to three (3) examinees were withheld pending final determination of their liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examination.

The Board of Accountancy is composed of Noe G. Quiñanola, Chairman; Marko Romeo L. Fuentes, Vice Chairman; Gloria T. Baysa, Samuel B. Padilla, Arlyn Juanita S. Villanueva, Thelma S. Ciudadano and Gervacio I. Piator, Members.

The results were released in 6 working days from the last day of examination.

The University of the Philippines-Diliman was the top performing school in the October 2018 C.P.A. Licensure Examination (CPALE).

May 2018 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 2,843 out of 9,830 passed the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination given by the Board of Accountancy in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Tacloban and Tuguegarao in May 2018.           

The Board of Accountancy is composed of Joel L. Tan-Torres, Chairman; Gloria T. Baysa, Samuel B. Padilla, Arlyn Juanita S. Villanueva, Thelma S. Ciudadano, Marko Romeo L. Fuentes and Gervacio I. Piator, Members.

The De La Salle University-Manila was the top performing school with an 90.11 percent passing rate. 

To be a top performing school, the school has 50 or more examinees and with at least 80 percent passing percentage.
