The Miss Universe 2017 pageant will air on Sunday, November 26 (Monday, November 27, Manila time) live stream from Las Vegas, Nevada with 92 beautiful candidates from all over the world competing for the crown. The 66th annual pageant will be broadcast live from the Axis Theater at Planet Hollywood beginning at 8 a.m. Philippines Standard Time.
This will be the second edition of the Miss Universe pageant under the new owners, WME/IMG, and will be the second aired by Fox and Azteca.
“Family Feud” host Steve Harvey and American lingerie model for the plus-size clothing store Lane Bryant Ashley Graham will host the show with musical guests Fergie Rachel Platten slated to perform.
Six judges, including Miss Universe 2017 Pia Wurtzbach and Miss Universe 1998 Wendy Fitzwilliam, will narrow down the competition to 12 finalists and then pick the winner from among them. The rest of the judges are television host, creative director, and makeup artist Jay Manuel, television personality Ross Mathews, Fox Sports 1 host and reporter Megan Olivi, and Vine and YouTube personality Lele Pons.
The Top 12 are chosen based on their performance during the three days of preliminary events; consisting of interviews, the swimsuit presentation, the evening gown competition, and global online fan voting.
Some of the finals judges were also judging in the preliminary competition. Included in the list of preliminary judges are Wendy Fitzwilliam and Megan Olivi.
The preliminary competition of Miss Universe 2017 kicked off in Las Vegas on Friday, with Miss Universe Philippines Rachel Peters and over 90 other candidates taking part in the contest’s swimsuit and evening gown portions.
The semi-finalists will be announced during the pageant’s coronation night on Monday in Manila.
Iris Mittenaere of France will crown her successor at the end of the event.
