A video uploaded at Meepo Pilipinas‘ Youtube channel, taken at a Hongkong voting precinct, surfaced on April 30, 2016 showing an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) complaining. This is after her receipt showed Presidential candidate and Senator Manuel “Mar” Roxas II as the one the OFW votes for President when, in fact, it was another Presidential candidate, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, whom she voted. The video shows how a Commission on Elections (COMELEC) officer responded to it.

Watch the video below:

Transcription (Non-verbatim and some gibberish words not included):

OFW1: Ibig sabihin niyan, hokus-pokus.

COMELEC: Sino pong nag-hokus-pokus?

OFW3: Sige, ipaglaban mo.

Filipinos expressed disgust regarding the said video.

Youtube user Jeciel Pajo commented, “Every vote is very important kaya, don’t tell na out of 25, 000 voters tatlo Lang kayong nagrereklamo. Kaya nga May election kasi we are free to choose who we want to, pero kung ganyan ang pangyayari na iba ang lalabas na number sa resibo, na instead for Mayor Duterte eh, mapunta Kay Roxas, ibang usapan na po yan. It’s a MANIPULATION…pandadaya po yan, klarong klaro po…#IPAGLABANANGKARAPATAN paano po si ate marerelax eh, nasayang ang kanyang BOTO…”

COMELEC is yet to undertake necessary actions on claims about manipulation of OFW’s votes abroad.
