Sibulan, Negros Oriental Official Local Candidates 2019 Midterm Elections

Two people are running for mayor of Sibulan, Negros Oriental in the coming 2019 local elections.

Registered voters will elect for the elective local posts in Sibulan, Negros Oriental: the mayor, vice mayor, the Congressman, and the councilors, six in each of the city’s two legislative districts, on May 13, 2019.

Sibulan, officially the Municipality of Sibulan, (Cebuano: Lungsod sa Sibulan; Tagalog: Bayan ng Sibulan), is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Negros Oriental, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 59,455 people.

Sibulan is bordered to the south by the provincial capital of Dumaguete City. It is the location of the Dumaguete Airport, the main airport for Negros Oriental.

Sibulan is also the location of the Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park, composed of Lake Balinsasayao and Lake Danao. The site, managed by the provincial government, is located 1,047 metres (3,435 ft) above sea level on Mount Talinis.

Guidelines for Verification

  1. The Certified List of Candidates (List), as posted, is merely an initial List and subject to editing.
  2. All candidates are enjoined to check their names, specifically their Names to Appear on the Official Ballot, in the List.
  3. Any request for correction, if allowed, shall be communicated to the Regional Election Director, Provincial Election Supervisor, or Election Officer concerned in writing until 9 November 2018. The Election Officer shall in turn, submit a memorandum to the Law Department, by the fastest means of communication with regard to the request for correction.
  4. The Law Department shall determine whether or not the request for correction is allowed.
  5. The List is subject to the outcome of the various cases/issues pending before the Commission.
