A graduate from the Wesleyan University in Cabanatuan City topped this year’s Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure examination given by the Professional Regulation Commission earlier this month.
Vhinson Jay Samson Garcia got the highest rating of 94.33 percent in the examination conducted by the Board of Accountancy.
The PRC said 5,249 out of 14,390 examinees passed the test given in the cities cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena and Tacloban.
The University of the Philippines-Diliman ranked No. 1 among top performing schools, with 69 out of 69 examinees or 100 percent passing the examination, followed by University of Santo Tomas with 352 out of 388 examinees or 90.72 percent.
The De La Salle University in Manila registered 88.66 percent passing rate, with 86 out of 97 graduates successfully hurdling the test.
Ateneo de Zamboanga University placed 4th with 87.14 passing rate or 61 out of 70 examinees. Bicol University registered 62 passers out of 73 examinees or 84.93 passing rate.
Far Eastern University placed 6th with 82.35 passing rate or 84 out of 102 examinees.
