#WALANGPASOK JULY 8, 2016 – Local governments have announced suspension of classes today, July 8, due to the rains brought by Typhoon Butchoy.

As of 5:00am, Typhoon #ButchoyPH has already weakened and made landfall over southeastern Taiwan.

Until next bulletin to be issued at 11am, the following will be experienced:

  • Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 640 km diameter of the typhoon.
  • Fisherfolk are advised not to venture out over the northern and eastern seabords of Luzon and the southern and western seaboards of Southern Luzon.
  • Butchoy will enhance the Southwedt monsoon which will bring moderate to occassionally heavy rains over the provinves od Zambales, Bataan, Batangas, Cavite, and Mindoro.
  • Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 195kph near the center and gustiness of up to 230kph
  • Forecast to move West Northwest at 15 kph.

The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are aadvised to take appropriate actions and watxh for the next bulletin to be issued at 11am today.
