A total of 43 colleges and universities, 18 private and 25 public schools, are among the top performing schools in secondary teacher education out of 2,210 in the 2018 aggregate data of licensure examinations for teachers with at least 30 examinees and above the weighted passing rate of 70 percent.
The University of the Philippines-Los Baños and the Ateneo de Manila University-Q.C. shared the No. 1 spot as top performing secondary teacher education school in licensure examination for teachers (LET) for 2018 with 100 percent weighted passing rate each with 39 and 38 examiness, respectively.
A total of 63,301 out of 160,067 examinees passed the licensure examinations for teachers for secondary held in March and September last year. The weighted national passing rate for 2018 was 39.55 percent. (READ: 67 ranked Best Secondary Education Schools in the Philippines for 2018)
The University of the Philippines-Diliman placed second with a 98.55 percent weighted passing rate from its 68 successful examinees out of 69.
De La Salle University came in third place with 96.91 percent from its 57 passers out of 59 examinees.
Compostela Valley State College-Main was fourth with a 93.10 percent weighted passing rate from its 54 successful examinees out of 58.
The fifth spot was the University of Santo Tomas with a 91.80 percent weighted passing rate from its 56 passers out of 61 examinees.
Xavier University in Baguio City earned the sixth place with a 91.30 percent weighted passing rate from its 42 successful examinees out of 46.
Completing the top 10 performing schools are the Ateneo de Davao University (90.32% with 84 passers out of 93 examinees), Compostela Valley State College-Maragusan (87.76% with 43 passers out of 49 examinees), Philippine Normal University-Mindanao (87.10% with 243 passers out of 279 examinees), and Philippine Normal University-Main (85.44% with 546 passers out of 639 examinees).
