Some schools in Metro Manila have announced class suspensions for January 31, due to the novel coronavirus or 2019-nCoV.
There has been 1 confirmed case of the coronavirus in the Philippines as of Thursday, January 31, however, there are 27 persons under investigation for possible nCoV infection in the Philippines.
The 38-year-old Chinese woman has traveled to Cebu and Dumaguete. She arrived in the Philippines from Wuhan, China on January 21, 2020 via Hong Kong. She is asymptomatic, meaning no signs or symptoms of illness
The class suspension, as the schools have stated, is just a preventive measure.
