#WalangPasok: Class suspensions for February 27, 2017 announced

Some schools and local government units (LGUs) suspended classes on Monday, February 27, 2017 due to the nationwide transport strike by jeepney operators protesting the planned phaseout of their vehicles.

Classes have been suspended in the following areas and schools: (Update as of 10:16 p.m., Feb. 26, 2017)

  • Aquinas University (Legazpi) – All classes and office work
  • Bicol University – All classes
  • De La Salle University-STC (Biñan) – All classes and office work
  • University of San Agustin (Iloilo)– All classes and office work
  • Western Visayas State University – All classes
  • UP Manila – All classes; Work (wait for further notice)
  • Philippine Christian University (Manila campus) – All levels
  • Lyceum of the Philippines University – All classes
  • Colegio de San Juan de Letran – All classes
  • De La Salle University – All classes and office work in all levels at Taft, Makati, and BGC campuses
  • De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde – All classes and office work
  • Adamson University – all classes including office work
  • Don Bosco Technical Institute Makati – All classes andoffice work
  • Far Eastern University (Manila, Makati) – all classes
  • Manila Tytana Colleges – all classes including office work
  • University of Santo Tomas – all classes and office work
  • Bacolod Taytung High School
  • Colegio San Agustin Bacolod – all classes including office work
  • La Consolacion College Bacolod – all classes
  • Riverside College Bacolod
  • STI West Negros University

LGUs

CNN Philippines reported that the transport groups PISTON, STOP and GO Coalition, and No To Jeepney Phase Out Coalition (NJPOC) will stage a massive nationwide strike on Monday, February 27, 2017.

Other schools and LGUS are expected to follow suit.
