The Philippines still has a chance to bring home the crown this year.
Philippine bet Rachel Peters entered the top 16 of the 66th Miss Universe pageant on Sunday (Monday morning, Philippine time).
The pageant is currently being held at The AXIS, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.

According to her biography, Peters was born in Bahrain to parents Nigel Peters and Annie Obregon. Her father is British while her mother is Bicolana. She has a younger brother named Daniel. Peters graduated from the British International School, Phuket in Thailand with an International Baccalaureate degree, and earned her bachelor’s degree in business, tourism, and events from La Trobe University.
